There are so many spellings of the surname: Cargill, Cargile, Cargal, Cargille, Carnigill, Kergylle, Carrigle, and others making it hard to track them. It's especially hard to track their birthplaces.

Cargill descendants have formed a group on Facebook. Our objective is to use family histories and documentation combined with DNA to help track Cargill ancestors, and other spelling variations, in an attempt to find where in the world they came from or where in the world they migrated to.

It is a group effort. We would love to have you come join us regardless which country you live in. Those from all around the world can have a huge impact on our research. Be prepared to share documents, family history, and DNA information so the group study will be beneficial to everyone. DNA is not required to join the group but should be considered in the near future.

All of us together may be able to hammer through some of those brick walls in our trees, piece together some of the loose puzzle pieces, and create a complete snapshot of our ancestors lives.

So grab a cuppa, kick off your shoes and come join us!

We are a closed group. Find us and ask to join.
